Mahabubabad, Sept.16 : Former Minister and BRS State General Secretary Satyavathi Rathod expressed strong indignation over the Congress government’s alleged negligence regarding the reconstruction of the Akeru Vagu bridge near Mulkalapalli in Dornakal mandal. The crucial bridge structure, which connects Mahabubabad and Khammam districts, was washed away during the severe floods of 2024.
Inspecting the damaged bridge site in Mulkalapalli, Rathod highlighted that despite years passing since the destruction, the state administration has failed to initiate permanent reconstruction works. She noted that commuters, local farmers, and students traveling between the two districts continue to face severe hardships due to the lack of proper connectivity.
Rathod criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, remarking that despite his personal visit to Mahabubabad district during the flood crisis and assurances of swift action, no progress has been made on the ground. Warning the state government against further delay, the BRS leader stated that the party would mobilize local residents and organize a massive protest (“Maha Dharna”) if bridge reconstruction works are not launched immediately.
