Hanumakonda, Sept.18 : Empowering women through vocational skill training is essential to achieving economic independence and overall social progress, stated Nerella Venkata Hyma Poojitha, Senior Civil Judge and Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). She was speaking as the chief guest at a certificate distribution ceremony and new training launch organized by the FMM Social Service Society at Ananta Bhavan in Subedari on Friday, September 18, 2026.
During her address, Judge Hyma Poojitha emphasized that acquiring practical skills alongside formal education helps women achieve financial growth. Citing Article 15 of the Indian Constitution, which guarantees equal opportunities for all citizens, she noted that the DLSA continuously works toward this goal. She encouraged women who completed tailoring and maggam work training to establish their own businesses, thereby overcoming poverty and fostering safe, violent-free family environments.
Addressing the gathering, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit Inspector Oruganti Ramesh warned that traffickers often exploit vulnerable individuals with false promises of employment. He stated that skill development programs protect women and children from such traps, assuring strict legal action against anyone involved in harassment or trafficking. District AIDS Control Office Manager Swapna Madhuri highlighted how employment training builds confidence and supports women’s overall well-being.
Dr. K. Anita Reddy, Kakatiya University Executive Council member and Senior Citizen Welfare Tribunal member, advised trained women to seek government and NGO assistance to build successful enterprises. During the event, certificates were awarded to women who completed their courses, and a new tailoring training center was inaugurated. Over 100 women from various regions attended the program.
