Mahabubabad, Sept.19 : An RTC bus driver allegedly verbally abused and threatened a 10th-class student in Nellikuduru mandal center, triggering widespread local concern. The victim, Veeravelli Bhargav, a Model School student from Ravirala village, lodged a police complaint along with his family members, seeking strict action against the driver.
The incident occurred on Friday evening when Bhargav boarded a Thorrur depot bus (TS 26 T 1266) to return home. Due to heavy rush inside the bus, the student was standing near the driver’s cabin. When passengers were alighting at the Nellikuduru Agricultural Market, driver Swami allegedly hurled abuses at Bhargav, grabbed him by the collar, forcefully pushed him inside, and threatened to run him over with the bus tires.
Frightened by the experience, the student informed his parents after reaching home. On Saturday, the family approached the Nellikuduru police station and submitted a formal complaint against the driver. The student’s family members demanded a thorough investigation by law enforcement authorities, while locals urged senior TGRTC officials to hold an internal inquiry into the incident.
Locals claimed that the same driver had previously misbehaved with students on multiple occasions, though official complaints were not confirmed. Authorities stated that a clear picture will emerge once police and RTC officials complete their investigation into the student’s allegations.
