Karimnagar, Sept. 24 : In a major administrative turn of events, the long-standing dominance of Konduru Ravinder Rao over the Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (KDCCB) came to an abrupt end after the state government dissolved the managing committee of the Gambhiraopet Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS). The decision led to Ravinder Rao losing his post as PACS Chairman, which automatically disqualified him from holding any leadership role in the KDCCB, as maintaining a active PACS chairmanship is a prerequisite for serving as the DCCB head.
The dramatic development unfolded just a day after Ravinder Rao assumed charge as the Person In-Charge (PIC) of KDCCB on September 21, 2026. While the state government had dissolved all DCCB boards in December 2025 and appointed District Collectors as PICs, the High Court subsequently stayed the decision. Citing the court ruling, Ravinder Rao unilaterally took charge as the bank’s PIC without explicit departmental orders, drawing criticism from cooperative officials. In response, cooperative department authorities initiated swift action by dissolving the Gambhiraopet PACS board.
An inquiry conducted by Rajanna Sircilla District Cooperative Officer (DCO) and cooperative department officials revealed severe financial irregularities and compliance failures at Gambhiraopet PACS. The probe highlighted Rs 27.38 crore in total outstanding dues as of March 31, 2025, including Rs 11.78 lakh in defaulted loans, alongside unrectified audit lapses from the 2024–25 financial year and gross negligence in loan recovery. Furthermore, poor handling of paddy procurement resulted in a commission deduction of Rs 6,09,415 due to gunny bag losses between 2022 and 2025. Following recommendations from the Nodal Officer and DCO, the Registrar of Cooperative Societies dissolved the board and appointed a 13-member Person In-Charge committee headed by Veshala Venkat to manage PACS operations.
