Mahabubabad, Aug.27 : District Collector Sneha Shabarish directed Mandal Parishad Development Officers (MPDOs) to maintain continuous field-level supervision to ensure all village-level development and welfare schemes are completed within set deadlines. Presiding over a comprehensive review meeting with MPDOs and district department heads at the Collectorate conference hall on Thursday, the Collector emphasized accelerating key infrastructure and housing projects.
Addressing the officials, Collector Sneha Shabarish instructed that the construction of Indiramma housing and double-bedroom (2BHK) houses for eligible beneficiaries be fast-tracked without technical or funding bottlenecks. Under the VB-G RAM G scheme (formerly MGNREGA), she directed officials to form mandal-level committees to conduct village-level meetings for constructing essential public infrastructure, including Panchayat buildings, Anganwadi centers, Rythu Seva Kendras, and veterinary clinics, while strictly adhering to quality standards.
The Collector highlighted the government’s push for agriculture and horticulture diversification, advising farmers to adopt oil palm and vegetable cultivation. She noted that financial subsidies are being offered through the horticulture department for constructing farm ponds, which help conserve rainwater, recharge groundwater, reduce power dependency, and provide additional income through fish farming. She further called for prioritizing rural sanitation, green cover, and individual toilet usage across all villages.
DRDO Project Director, ZP CEO Purushotham, District Rural Development Officer Madhusudhana Raju, District Panchayat Officer Revanth, Agriculture Officer Vijayachandra, Horticulture Officer G. Mariyanna, and MPDOs from various mandals attended the review.
