Hanumakonda, Oct.1 : CPI State Assistant Secretary Thakkallapally Srinivas Rao has demanded the immediate dismissal of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar, accusing the Election Commission of India of acting in violation of constitutional norms and illegally deleting the votes of poor and eligible citizens. Addressing a massive protest demonstration organized jointly by the CPI and CPI(M) in front of the Hanumakonda Collectorate on Thursday, Srinivas Rao demanded the immediate restoration of all deleted votes and the halting of the controversial Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
The protest was jointly presided over by CPI Hanumakonda District Secretary Karre Bikshapathi and CPI(M) District Secretary Prabhakar Reddy.
