Jagtial, Aug.17 : Jagtial District Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar, stated that CCTV cameras play a vital role in crime control, solving complex cases, and maintaining public safety in the modern era. Speaking after inaugurating 48 newly installed CCTV cameras at the Malyala Gram Panchayat premises as part of a community policing initiative, the SP noted that law enforcement becomes significantly more effective when every town and village is brought under surveillance networks.
The SP emphasized that CCTV cameras serve as invaluable tools for public protection, allowing law enforcement to swiftly track criminal movements and apprehend suspects. Citing a recent theft case solved under the Malyala police station limits solely through surveillance footage, Ashok Kumar highlighted that extensive CCTV networks have already been established across Jagtial, Metpally, Dharmapuri, Korutla, and now Malyala. He pointed out numerous instances where video footage helped reconstruct road accidents, thefts, and street brawls, leading to successful arrests and court convictions.
Urging citizens, business owners, and apartment associations to voluntarily install security cameras on their premises, the SP remarked that private surveillance strengthens both individual and collective community safety. He recommended prioritizing key intersections, main roads, commercial areas, and busy public centers for camera installation. Expressing appreciation to the Malyala Gram Panchayat body and public representatives for funding the new cameras, he called on neighboring villages to follow suit. Malyala CI Raj Kumar, SI Sandeep, Sarpanch Botla Jaya Prasad, Deputy Sarpanch Katkam Vinay, ward members, and local leaders attended the inauguration.
