Karimnagar, Oct.9 : Karimnagar has become the first circle under the Telangana Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGNPDCL) to achieve 100 percent integration with the Real-Time Feeder Monitoring System (RTFMS). Announcing the milestone, TGNPDCL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Karnati Varun Reddy confirmed that all 82 power substations within the Karimnagar circle have been successfully integrated into the central Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.
The CMD stated that TGNPDCL is scaling up RTFMS implementation across its jurisdiction to enhance electricity supply quality, minimize power disruptions, and rapidly resolve technical glitches. The initiative is being expanded under the guidance of Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, with administrative support from Energy Department Special Chief Secretary Navin Mittal. So far, 1,005 substations across TGNPDCL have been integrated with SCADA, with the remaining 419 substations expected to be covered within two months.
Detailing the key operational advantages of RTFMS technology, Varun Reddy explained that the system enables continuous monitoring of feeder performance, power loads, and voltage levels directly from the SCADA control room. The automated platform generates real-time alerts whenever outages or overloading occur, enabling control room operators to dispatch field staff instantly. This proactive monitoring mechanism significantly reduces response times, speeds up fault rectification, and prevents potential grid failures.
Commending the engineers and technical teams for completing the Karimnagar integration, the CMD expressed confidence that Hanamkonda, Khammam, and Komaram Bheem Asifabad circles would achieve 100 percent integration shortly. He reaffirmed TGNPDCL’s commitment to adopting modern technological solutions to build a resilient power distribution network capable of delivering reliable and uninterrupted electricity to consumers.
