Warangal, Oct.12 : The Mills Colony police in Warangal launched a special late-night crackdown dubbed ‘Operation Chebutra,’ apprehending 28 individuals, seizing 10 motorcycles and 24 mobile phones, and filing cases against offenders for public nuisance and drinking in public spaces. Executed under the directives of Warangal Police Commissioner N. Shwetha, the operation aimed to curb late-night roaming, maintain public order, and prevent unlawful activities across local neighborhoods.
The targeted sweep was carried out late Sunday night across various localities within the Mills Colony police station limits, including Chintal, Abbanikunta, Labor Colony, Fort Warangal, Shivanagar, SRR Thota, Ursu Gutta, Karimabad, Ursu, Shambunipeta, and Rangasaipeta. Following the detentions, police summoned the family members of the accused to the station, where formal counseling sessions were conducted to educate them on the legal and social consequences of late-night wandering and public disorderly conduct. Mills Colony Inspector Karre Swamy warned that Operation Chebutra is an ongoing, continuous initiative and that strict legal action will be taken against anyone disrupting public peace or moving outside without valid reasons during late hours.
The large-scale operation was led by Mills Colony Inspector Karre Swamy, alongside circle inspectors Mangilal, S. Srinivas, I. Srinivas, Shyam Sundar, several sub-inspectors, task force personnel, and a rapid response team, totaling around 40 police officers.
