Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Oct.14 : The CCS and Bhupalpally Town police successfully cracked a theft case involving a young child’s gold Hanuman locket within days of the crime. The joint operational team identified and arrested the accused through meticulous investigation and CCTV analysis.
The incident occurred on October 11 when Jarupula Balaji, a resident of Maisamma Colony in Bhupalpally town, visited Kasam Fashion Mall for shopping along with his wife and two children. Upon returning home, the family noticed the following morning that the gold locket worn by their child was missing. Noticing scratch marks on the child’s neck, Balaji suspected foul play and immediately lodged a complaint at the Bhupalpally Town police station.
Police registered a case and initiated a thorough investigation. Upon scanning CCTV footage around the shopping mall, the combined police team identified the suspects as Manju Kavitha and her husband Sridhar, residents of Nacharam. During interrogation, both accused confessed to surreptitiously snatching the gold locket from the child’s neck during the shopping rush. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the duo.
Following the arrest, Bhupalpally Town Inspector C.H. Srinivas advised parents to exercise heightened caution when taking young children to crowded areas like shopping malls and markets. He urged parents to avoid dressing young children in expensive gold ornaments in public spaces and report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.
