Karimnagar, Oct.15 : Former Choppadandi MLA Sunke Ravishankar and his wife Deevena hosted a special Bathukamma festive program for local orphan children at their residence in Boorugupalli village under Gangadhara mandal. Continuing their yearly tradition, the couple invited parentless children, presented them with new clothes, and served them a festive meal, reassuring them of continuous moral and financial support regardless of political office.
Interacting with the children during the celebrations, Sunke Ravishankar turned emotional and offered fatherly solace to those who missed family warmth during festival seasons. “I am your father, and this is your home. As long as I have breath, I will love and support you like my own children. Whenever you face any hardship or need assistance, consider me your family and come to me without hesitation,” he assured them.
Beyond festive celebrations, the former legislator has actively provided personal financial aid and mobilized community support for orphaned youth across the constituency. Highlighting one such initiative, Ravishankar recently extended ₹20,000 in direct assistance and coordinated with NRIs and local donors to mobilize ₹15 lakh for Nerella Samatha and Mamatha from Katnapalli village, who were previously living under a makeshift tent without proper shelter, securing their housing, education, and livelihood needs.
Local representatives and residents commended the couple’s sustained commitment to social welfare, noting that their humanitarian endeavors continue to bring hope, dignity, and practical relief to vulnerable children throughout the Choppadandi region.
