Hanumakonda, Oct.15 : Warangal Police Commissioner N. Shweta and Central Zone DCP D. Kavitha participated in vibrant Bathukamma celebrations held at the Hanamkonda Police Headquarters on Thursday evening. The event brought together women police constables, officers, and administrative staff for an evening of traditional songs, folk dances, and cultural revelry.
Joining the women personnel in singing traditional folk songs and dancing around the colorful floral stacks, Commissioner Shweta emphasized the importance of staying connected to cultural roots despite hectic professional schedules. She noted that such cultural gatherings offer much-needed mental relaxation and relief from demanding policing duties, praising the grand and traditional manner in which Warangal celebrates the festival compared to metropolitan cities.
During the celebrations, prizes were awarded for the best-crafted floral arrangements, with the Bharosa Centre team securing the first prize. Subedari Police Station woman constable Swapna was also specially felicitated for rendering melodious Bathukamma folk songs. The festivities concluded with the traditional immersion (Ganga Pravesham) of the floral arrangements in a specially created water pond at the headquarters.
