Hyderabad, Oct.18 : The vibrant celebrations of Saddula Bathukamma, representing the cultural pride and heritage of Telangana, concluded on a grand note across the state. Lakhs of women and young girls clad in traditional attire gathered at various water bodies, lakes, and shrines across the composite districts of Warangal, Karimnagar, Medak, and surrounding regions, singing folk songs and immersing floral stacks with devotion.
In Greater Warangal, major celebration hubs including Padmakshi Gutta, Ursu Gutta, Komati Cheruvu, and Yellamma Cheruvu witnessed massive turnouts. Former Minister Konda Surekha joined local women in traditional dancing at Ursu Gutta, where authorities implemented safety wristbands for children to prevent missing incidents. Key highlights across other regions included an American national participating in festivities at Wardhannapet and an extraordinary 32-foot-tall floral Bathukamma crafted using 8 tonnes of flowers in Sangareddy.
Ministers and public representatives actively joined local celebrations in their respective regions, including Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar in Husnabad, MLA Medipally Satyam in Choppadandi/Kodimial, and MLA Koram Kanakaiah in Tekulapalli. Local administration and police department deployed elaborate security arrangements at all immersion locations, ensuring the festival concluded peacefully across urban and rural pockets.
