Hanumakonda, Oct.19 : Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Telangana Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGNPDCL), Karnati Varun Reddy, directed officials and field staff to remain on high alert to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply across the region during the Dussehra holiday season. Holding a video conference from the company headquarters in Nakkalagutta, Hanumakonda, with Superintending Engineers (SEs) from 18 circles on Monday, the CMD reviewed power supply arrangements and ordered proactive field-level measures.
Addressing the meeting, CMD Varun Reddy specified that power shutdowns or line clearances (LCs) for routine maintenance work should not be sanctioned until October 21, except under unavoidable emergencies. Given the heavy movement of citizens returning to their native towns and villages for festivities, he urged officials to pay special attention to maintaining stable agricultural and domestic power feeds, avoiding unnecessary supply disruptions during peak evening and night hours.
To address technical glitches immediately, 24/7 control rooms have been activated across all circle and division headquarters to monitor feeder and distribution transformer (DTR) loads. CMD Varun Reddy directed operational teams to maintain adequate inventory, repair vehicles, and emergency response crews while coordinating closely with Transco authorities to handle sudden breakdowns. The review meeting was attended by TGNPDCL Directors V. Mohan Rao and T. Madhusudan, along with Chief Engineers Ashok and Surendar.
