Karimnagar, July 14 : District Youth and Sports Officer V. Srinivas Goud on Tuesday released the wall poster for the upcoming 4th All India Open and Junior Chess Championship–2026. The national-level tournament is scheduled to be held on July 18 and 19 at the Genius Chess Academy in Karimnagar.
Speaking at the launch, Srinivas Goud emphasized that chess is an excellent sport for mental development. He noted that hosting a national-level championship in the district will provide a platform for local young players to showcase and test their skills against diverse talents.
Tournament Director Kankati Anoop Kumar stated that the two-day event will attract players from various parts of the country. A total cash prize fund of ₹1,25,000, along with trophies, medals, and certificates, will be awarded to the winners across different categories. He urged interested participants to register their names in advance.
Bharosa Voluntary Organization President Nagaraju, Genius Chess Academy Founder Kankati Kanakaiah, and tournament organizers Srujan and Ravichandra were present at the event.
