Hanumakonda, July 22 : The Sevaarth Committee, the social service wing of Kakatiya Medical College (KMC), organized an Adolescent Health Awareness Program at Reso Medicon Junior College in Hanumakonda on Wednesday. The initiative was held under the guidance of Dr. D. Mohan Das, Principal of Kakatiya Medical College and Additional Director of Medical Education (DME).
Speaking at the event, Sevaarth Committee President R.K. Shreeram Reddy stated that the program was designed to educate intermediate students on adolescent physical and psychological development, health protection, and the benefits of adopting a healthy lifestyle.
The awareness sessions were conducted separately for first- and second-year intermediate students, providing age-appropriate and scientifically accurate health education. Key topics covered included menstrual hygiene, sexual and reproductive health, balanced nutrition, mental well-being, cyber safety, and the prevention of substance abuse.
During the interactive sessions, the medical team addressed common misconceptions surrounding adolescent health, emphasizing the importance of informed decision-making and seeking timely medical advice. Students actively engaged with the medical experts to clarify doubts regarding physical and mental health concerns.
Reso Medicon Junior College Principal Vinay and the college management commended the Sevaarth Committee for promoting preventive healthcare among youth. The event was attended by former Sevaarth President Abdul Raoof, committee members, and college faculty.
