Hyderabad, July 29 : Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha announced on Tuesday that Jagtial Government General Hospital (GGH) will be upgraded into a full-fledged specialty medical hub, providing comprehensive healthcare services to the region. Reviewing health services in Jagtial district at the Telangana Secretariat, the Minister directed officials to expedite the construction of the new hospital building equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.
During the review meeting, Minister Raja Narasimha instructed officials to initiate applications for postgraduate (PG) medical courses at Jagtial Medical College to strengthen medical education and specialist availability. He also assured that specialist doctors will soon be appointed to government hospitals in Korutla and Metpally to cater to rural healthcare needs.
Highlighting the state’s recruitment efforts, the Health Minister stated that out of 1,616 specialist doctor posts across Telangana, 1,182 have already been filled, bringing total health department recruitments to 15,000 over the past two and a half years. He added that a Critical Care Block and Trauma Care services will be launched in Jagtial shortly, supported by uninterrupted drug supplies from the Central Medicinal Store.
To promote normal deliveries and reduce unnecessary C-section procedures, the government is providing specialized midwifery training to nurses. Outlining the broader healthcare roadmap, the Minister reiterated the government’s plan to develop Jagtial GGH as a specialty hub and Karimnagar as a super-specialty hub, while systematically resolving healthcare infrastructure challenges from sub-centers to district hospitals across the state.
