Yadadri, August 03 : Families affected by land encroachment issues from Thalla Veerappagudem and Veerlapalem villages in Damaracherla mandal staged a demonstration on Monday in front of the main gate of the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant (YTPS).
The protesters gathered at the plant entrance, demanding that the state government intervene immediately to resolve their long-pending land issues and deliver justice. Speaking during the demonstration, the affected residents expressed deep anguish over the persistent delays, stating that their land grievances have remained unresolved for a prolonged period without any permanent solution in sight.
The victims accused authorities and the government of continued negligence despite submitting multiple representations regarding their land rights and compensation. They urged the state leadership to consider their livelihoods and future, pressing for an immediate, fair decision to safeguard the affected families.
In response to the demonstration, a heavy police contingent was deployed at the site to monitor the situation and prevent any untoward incidents. While the protest concluded peacefully, the affected families maintained that they will continue their agitation until all pending land issues are fully resolved.
