Rajanna Sircilla, July 25 : Sircilla police seized 60 undocumented two-wheelers and booked an illegal liquor vendor during a cordon-and-search drive at Rajiv Nagar on Saturday. Conducted under the directives of Rajanna Sircilla Superintendent of Police Mahesh B. Githe, the Community Contact Programme was led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) K. Nagendra Chary to maintain law and order and curb local crime.
Police personnel screened residential areas to track suspicious individuals, checking their employment details and daily activities to prevent illegal harbouring of offenders. Alongside vehicle seizures, police booked Kokkula Anjaneyulu for running an unauthorized belt shop and confiscated three liters of liquor.
Addressing residents, DSP Chary highlighted how community outreach drives foster a sense of safety among citizens. He strongly encouraged neighbourhoods to install CCTV cameras, noting that video surveillance is vital for effective crime prevention and tracking suspects. The DSP assured the public that the police department would extend full technical support for CCTV setups.
Urging residents to stay alert, the DSP appealed to the community to report suspicious persons immediately. He advised parents to keep youth focused on education and warned against engaging in illegal practices, specifically targeting cannabis (ganja) smuggling and trade. Assuring complete confidentiality for informants, he cautioned that anyone disrupting public peace would face strict legal action. Town Inspector Srinivas and Sub-Inspectors Nagaraju, Ganesh and Ranjith participated in the operation.
