Karimnagar, Sept.16 : Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar launched a sharp attack against both the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS in Telangana, announcing that the BJP will initiate a statewide agitation against lands illegally acquired by BRS leaders and redistribute them to landless poor families.
Speaking to reporters in Karimnagar after inspecting immersion arrangements for the upcoming Ganesh festival alongside local administration officials, Sanjay alleged a covert understanding between Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and BRS leadership. He questioned why the state government required nearly 33 months to acknowledge land encroachments, including alleged government land holdings at former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s farmhouse. He claimed the Chief Minister raised BRS land deals in the State Assembly primarily to pressure the opposition party into financial settlements aimed at funding upcoming elections and central party dues.
Sanjay further criticized the delay in executing investigations into past corruption scandals, including the Kaleshwaram project, power purchase deals, and the Formula E race. He noted that while nearly 60 percent of people in Telangana lack land and over 25 lakh families do not possess house sites, BRS leaders illegally acquired thousands of acres. He asserted that if district collectors are given full authority, land encroachment reports could be submitted within 24 hours rather than being prolonged under the guise of special investigation teams. The Union Minister reiterated that the BJP will organize public protests to reclaim encroached properties for welfare distribution.
