Hyderabad, Sept.17 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy delivered good news to the residents of Warangal district during his address at the Praja Palana Dinotsavam held at Hyderabad Public Garden. He announced that a massive 2,018-bed super-speciality hospital built in Warangal will soon be made available to provide advanced medical services to the poor.
Highlighting the state’s healthcare expansion, the Chief Minister noted that the government has also initiated the construction of the new Osmania Hospital at Goshamahal. Additionally, new Telangana Institutes of Medical Sciences (TIMS) hospitals at Alwal and LB Nagar will open soon, following the recent inauguration of the Marri Chenna Reddy TIMS hospital in Sanathnagar. He stressed that these major investments are aimed at bringing corporate-standard healthcare directly to underprivileged families.
The announcement has brought immense joy to the people of Warangal. While the city is currently served by MGM Hospital, patients often face the burden of traveling all the way to Hyderabad for critical emergency care. The opening of this state-of-the-art super-speciality facility is expected to be a major milestone for local healthcare, eliminating the need for long-distance travel during medical emergencies.
Built at an estimated cost of ₹1,371 crore, the 24-storey Warangal Super Speciality Hospital spans over 20 lakh square feet. The state-of-the-art facility features 35 operation theatres, residential quarters for medical staff, and a dedicated rest house (Dharmashala) for patient attendants. Construction works are scheduled to wrap up by October, followed by trial runs in November, making the hospital fully operational for public service by December 2026.
