Mulugu, Sept.18 : Officers from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Warangal Range caught Sri Nellutla Srujan Kumar, Tahsildar of Govindaraopet Mandal, red-handed while accepting a bribe at the Mandal Revenue Office. The official was trapped on Friday, September 18, 2026, while receiving ₹14,000 from a complainant in exchange for processing the succession records of ancestral agricultural land in favor of the complainant’s wife, Smt. Lingala Srilatha.
According to officials, the Tahsildar originally demanded a bribe of ₹15,000, which was later negotiated down to ₹14,000. During the trap operation, the accused received the tainted cash with his right hand and stored it in his trouser pocket. ACB officials recovered the money from his possession, and a chemical test performed on his right-hand fingers tested positive, turning pink and proving physical contact with the marked notes.
ACB authorities stated that the official acted dishonestly and abused his official position to obtain an undue financial advantage. The accused officer was arrested and is being produced before the Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases in Warangal. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway, while the identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.
Following the raid, the Anti-Corruption Bureau urged the public to report any public servant demanding bribes by calling their toll-free number 1064, contacting them via WhatsApp (9440446106), or reaching out through official social media pages. Officials assured that the identity of complainants will be kept strictly confidential.
