Hanumakonda, Sept.25 : Marking a significant milestone in the academic and cultural history of the region, Kakatiya University (KU) commemorated its golden jubilee celebrations with the grand launch of a special tribute song titled “Yuddha Bhoomi Kakatiya University.” The commemorative track was officially released by University Vice-Chancellor Professor Karnati Pratap Reddy and Registrar Professor Valluri Ramachandra during a formal ceremony held at the university auditorium. The dignitaries praised the initiative for capturing the enduring spirit and legacy of the prestigious educational institution over the past five decades.
Highlighting the historical evolution of the university since its inception fifty years ago, the song serves as a powerful musical documentary of the campus’s rich legacy. It specifically honours the crucial role played by the university’s student community in the protracted struggle for the separate statehood of Telangana. Beyond political movements, the lyrics thoughtfully articulate how current and former students have consistently carried forward the visionary ideals of great leaders through impactful social service programs.
The musical tribute also praises the institution’s commitment to advancing higher education, fostering innovative academic research, and nurturing intellectual growth among rural youth. According to the organizers, this marks the first time in the fifty-year history of Kakatiya University that such a dedicated, comprehensive anthem has been composed to celebrate its remarkable journey.
The creative execution of the special golden jubilee track involved a dedicated team of regional artists and technicians. Writer Nerella Devender penned the inspiring lyrics, while vocalist Inugurthi Madhu lent his voice to the composition.
