Warangal, Sept.28: Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju instructed district collectors on Monday to prioritize student safety, health, and basic infrastructure across all welfare residential educational institutions in the state. During a video conference reviewed alongside Warangal District Collector Dr. Satya Sharada, the Chief Secretary asked officials to perform surprise inspections to review ground-level arrangements.
Expressing concern over recent cases of food poisoning, rat bites, and snake bites in hostels, the Chief Secretary directed authorities to strictly enforce standard operating procedures regarding food preparation, storage, and general cleanliness. He instructed collectors to ensure hot water for bathing and warm blankets ahead of the winter season, alongside completing the distribution of two sets of stitched uniforms to every student before the upcoming Dasara festival.
Jaju instructed officials to continuously monitor teacher and student attendance, upgrade mess kitchens, and maintain real-time operational entries on the state government’s integrated dashboard portal. He advised collectors to inspect rented hostel buildings and conduct necessary repair works, while emphasizing that cosmetic charges are being transferred directly to students via direct benefit transfer schemes.
Following the video conference, Warangal Collector Dr. Satya Sharada directed regional coordinating officers and district welfare officials to inspect BC, SC, ST, minority residential schools, KGBVs, and model schools regularly. Additional Collector Y.V. Ganesh, District Education Officer Rangaiah Naidu, and other senior officials attended the administrative review meeting.
