Hanumakonda, Sept.28 : District Congress leaders and party cadres organized a massive ‘Maha Dharna’ protest in Hanumakonda on Monday, demanding the immediate arrest and removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged electoral roll manipulations. Led by Hanumakonda DCC President Enagala Venkatram Reddy, local leaders accused the Election Commission of India of systematic vote tampering to benefit the ruling BJP.
A large rally marched from the local Arts and Science College auditorium to the District Collectorate premises. Demonstrators carried placards, raised slogans against the Election Commission, and burned an effigy of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar during a sit-in demonstration. Following the protest, a senior delegation met Hanumakonda District Collector Chahat Bajpai and submitted an official memorandum demanding swift corrective action on the electoral rolls.
Addressing the gathering, Venkatram Reddy claimed that objections raised by election commissioners over arbitrary additions and deletions of voters were ignored, proving allegations made by Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi regarding widespread ‘vote theft’. He demanded a comprehensive probe into the electoral roll modifications and urged law enforcement agencies to register criminal charges against the CEC to uphold democratic integrity.
Prominent leaders attended the agitation, including Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy, Warangal MP Kadiyam Kavya, Parkal MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy, and Warangal Parliament In-charges Palle Srinivas Goud and Duddilla Srinu Babu. Numerous local office bearers, affiliate organization representatives, and party workers participated in the protest.
