Hanumakonda, Sept.29 : Kakatiya University Vice-Chancellor Professor K. Pratap Reddy urged the All India Students’ Federation (AISF) to champion protests against the privatization and corporate takeover of education while protecting public sector institutions. He was speaking as the chief guest at the state delegates’ conference organized as part of AISF’s 90th anniversary celebrations at Bala Vikasa in Kazipet, Hanumakonda district, on Tuesday.
Addressing student delegates, Professor Pratap Reddy recalled his own student days with AISF, emphasizing that academic learning must go beyond textbooks to understand broader societal issues. He called on student leaders to actively raise awareness among youth against drug and substance abuse on campuses, urging students to enhance their technical skills to succeed in a competitive world without failing their parents’ aspirations.
Former AISF National President Takkallapalli Srinivasa Rao hoisted the organizational flag to inaugurate the session, slamming state governments for failing to resolve longstanding student grievances. Meanwhile, AISF National General Secretary Dinesh Srangi Rajan criticized the National Education Policy (NEP), alleging that its implementation aims to marginalize underprivileged, Dalit, and tribal students from accessing higher education.
The conference saw the participation of AISF State President Kashireddy Manikanta Reddy, General Secretary Putta Laxman, state office-bearers Raghuram, Itikala Ramakrishna, Gyara Naresh, and Kranti Kumar, along with Hanamkonda and Warangal district leadership, including Praneeth Goud, Bhashaboyina Santhosh, Diddi Parthasarathi, and Lyadella Sharath.
