Mahabubabad, Oct.10 : The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has initiated searches against Mahabubabad Civil Supplies Assistant Manager (Technical) Vasamsetti Narasimha Rao following serious allegations of accumulating disproportionate assets. The official, who was previously suspended twice on administrative grounds, came under the ACB radar after fresh petitions were submitted regarding illegal wealth generated during his service.
During synchronized raids across multiple locations in Khammam, Suryapet, Nizamabad, Mahabubabad, and Hyderabad, anti-graft officials unearthed vast immovable properties. Preliminary findings revealed that the officer acquired 28 acres of agricultural land, five open residential plots, and multiple residential buildings across these regions, registered under his name as well as those of suspected benamis.
Investigators also seized 361 grams of gold, nearly 332 grams of silver ornaments, luxury vehicles, and household items. While the official documented book value of the identified assets stands at around Rs 9.41 crore, officials estimate that the prevailing open market value of the properties exceeds Rs 100 crore.
The ACB is currently verifying financial records, bank accounts, and transaction receipts to assess the complete scale of illegal wealth relative to his known sources of income. Officials stated that further probe is underway regarding additional benami properties and investments, with further legal actions and formal updates expected shortly.
