Karimnagar, July 17 : The annual Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra Mahotsavam was celebrated with immense religious fervour and grandeur across Karimnagar city on Thursday. Organized by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and the Shri Radha Govinda Mandir, the spiritual procession drew thousands of devout participants.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar, along with City Mayor Kolagani Srinivas, officially launched the festival by pulling the ceremonial chariot of Lord Jagannath alongside the massive gathering of devotees.
Speaking on the auspicious occasion, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar remarked that seeking blessings from Lord Jagannath on the chariot is a deeply purifying experience. He prayed for the prosperity of Karimnagar’s residents, adding that such religious events foster brotherhood, communal harmony, and spiritual consciousness in society.
Mayor Kolagani Srinivas described the Rath Yatra as a powerful symbol of India’s cultural heritage and Sanatana Dharma. He appreciated ISKCON and the organizing committee for successfully hosting the mega event.
The vibrant festival was attended by Deputy Mayor Y. Sunil Rao, municipal corporators, Rath Yatra committee representatives, and public leaders.
