Mulugu, July 20 : As part of the ‘Nenu Saitham’ community contact programme, police authorities of Pasra mandal urged citizens to install CCTV cameras at their homes and business establishments, emphasizing that a single surveillance camera is equivalent to the vigilance of 100 police officers.
The initiative was organized in Dampelligudem village under the guidance of Mulugu District SP Sudheer Ramnath Kekan and DSP Ravinder. Administered by Pasra CI Dayakar and SI Tajuddin, the program aims to curb crime rates, safeguard public property, and accelerate police investigations across the district through public participation.
During the event, a total of 15 new CCTV cameras were successfully integrated into the local surveillance network. With the active cooperation of village Sarpanch Sitaram and ward members, nine cameras were installed at key locations in Dampelligudem. Additionally, a resident named Sampath Reddy set up three cameras at his house in Pasra, while a shopkeeper named Narsaiah installed three cameras at his commercial establishment in Chalvai village.
Commending the public’s proactive participation, police officers stated that extensive camera networks are highly effective in deterring anti-social elements and resolving crimes swiftly making every neighbourhood safer.
