The Police Commissioner Rashmi Perumal launched ‘SHE SAFE ZONE’ along Rajiv Rahadari here in Siddipet district.
Siddipet, August 01 : In a pioneering move to ensure the safety of women and families travelling on highways, Siddipet Police Commissioner Rashmi Perumal has launched a dedicated women’s safety programme titled ‘SHE SAFE ZONE’ along Rajiv Rahadari. This first-of-its-kind state initiative aims to establish secure, reliable stopovers for long-distance commuters, allowing women and families to halt without fear or security concerns.
Under this program, commercial establishments along the highway such as fuel stations, restaurants, and hotels will be evaluated against strict safety parameters before receiving an official ‘SHE SAFE’ designation from the Siddipet Police Commissionerate. To earn the safety tag, establishments must mandatorily provide six key amenities including secure parking spaces, quality food, clean washroom access, mandatory CCTV surveillance, well-lit premises, and verified, trusted staff.
As part of the launch, CP Rashmi Perumal personally inspected several establishments along Rajiv Rahadari to review existing facilities and provide recommendations for upgrading security standards. This field visit follows a recent consultative meeting where the Commissioner urged highway business owners to partner with the police, install robust CCTV networks, and proactively strengthen safety measures to create a secure ecosystem for citizens.
Speaking during the inspection, CP emphasized that the ‘SHE SAFE ZONE’ initiative is a continuous, phase-wise program. She stated that key highway locations are currently being identified, and over the next month, police teams will work closely with management to ensure full implementation of all required safety protocols, turning these halts into comprehensive safe zone.
