The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar participated in several municipal development programmes here in Karimnagar
Karimnagar, August 01 : Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar directed the Karimnagar Mayor Kolagani Srinivas and Deputy Mayor Y. Sunil Rao to take strict legal action against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders for allegedly making false corruption charges regarding Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF) tenders. The Minister instructed civic officials to immediately issue legal notices to those spreading baseless allegations and drag them to court if they fail to issue an unconditional public apology.
Speaking during his visit to Karimnagar after participating in several municipal development programs, the Union Minister clarified that neither he nor the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation has any role in the UIDF tender process, as it falls entirely under the jurisdiction of the State Government. He accused BRS leaders of making deliberate attempts to malign the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) reputation out of political frustration after losing public trust in the city.
Bandi Sanjay stated that the BJP-led municipal administration is committed to providing transparent and corruption-free governance. He remarked that leaders who oversaw years of administrative failure and corruption during the previous ten-year BRS regime are now resorting to throwing mud at the current administration to divert public attention.
Emphasizing that the civic administration will not tolerate malicious character assassination, the Minister urged local leaders to stand firm. He asserted that those who have done no wrong have nothing to fear, adding that strong legal action against slanderous claims will serve as a firm warning against spreading false propaganda in the future.
