Karimnagar, Oct.5 : Senior AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) leaders, contested corporators, and grassroots party workers staged a protest outside Trida Hotel in Karimnagar against the party’s district in-charge, Yaser Arafat, following the unilateral announcement of the AIMIM Karimnagar Town Committee. Protesters raised slogans including ‘Yaser Arafat Down Down’ and ‘New Town Committee Down Down’ expressing anger over being bypassed despite decades of service to the party.
The aggrieved workers alleged that the new town committee was formed secretly in a closed room to deliberately weaken the party structure in Karimnagar. They raised strong objections to the inclusion of leaders associated with the BRS during recent municipal elections, questioning how individuals who actively worked against the party were granted positions in the new body without consulting long-standing cadre who have served the party for over 20 to 30 years.
Expressing deep disappointment, senior party leaders warned that taking unilateral decisions while ignoring loyal cadre would introduce commercial practices into the organization and cause severe political damage to AIMIM in the region. They demanded that high command intervene, dismantle the newly announced committee, and ensure fair representation for dedicated party workers.
