Karimnagar, Oct.2 : Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar launched a fierce attack on the ruling Congress and the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) while attending Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary celebrations in Jammikunta. After paying floral tributes to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, the BJP leader addressed the media and questioned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over recent remarks by Congress leaders describing Lord Ram as “the God of the rich.” He emphasized that Gandhi, who slept on bare floors wearing a simple loincloth, constantly chanted Ram Nam, questioning whether the deity revered by Mahatma Gandhi was for the affluent or for all humanity.
Asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP are the true ideological heirs of Mahatma Gandhi, Bandi Sanjay stated that Gandhi practiced true Hindu Sanatana Dharma through truth, justice, and selflessness without pursuing power, dynastic rule, or corruption. He contrasted this vision with the current Congress leadership, labeling it the “Italian National Congress” controlled by a “duplicate Gandhi family” driven by corruption, nepotism, and anti-Hindu sentiment. Turning his sights to BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Union Minister criticized him for remaining confined to his farmhouse rather than attending birth and death anniversaries of national icons like Gandhi and Ambedkar, calling him a selfish leader who abandons the public after political defeat.
Addressing upcoming political developments, Bandi Sanjay held Congress responsible for the impending Khairatabad by-election. He accused Congress leaders of attempting to win the seat by relying heavily on minority votes while completely neglecting over two lakh Hindu voters in the constituency, declaring that the BJP would unite the majority electorate. He further claimed that the ruling Congress party is attempting to divide Hindus to distract the public from its failure to implement its promised six guarantees, concluding that the all-round development of Telangana is only possible through a ‘Double Engine’ BJP government.
