Warangal, Oct.12 : The Warangal District BJP Mahila Morcha staged a massive protest demonstration at Warangal Chowrasta, demanding immediate justice for the victim involved in the sexual misconduct allegations at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in New Delhi. Demonstrators raised slogans against senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, culminating in the burning of their effigies on the public road to register strong protest.
The protest program was organized under the leadership of BJP Mahila Morcha District President Tekumatla Renuka. Joining the demonstration, BJP Warangal District President Ganta Ravikumar demanded a transparent, impartial, and immediate inquiry into the sexual harassment allegations surrounding Congress MP Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam. He urged law enforcement authorities to take strict legal action to ensure complete justice for the victim and all affected students.
Mahila Morcha leaders sharply criticized Rahul Gandhi’s silence on the grave allegations involving his party MP, questioning whether his public statements on women’s rights and dismantling patriarchy were merely electoral slogans. They asserted that defending an MP accused of misconduct reflects the Congress party’s disregard for women’s dignity. The leaders emphasized that women’s safety must not be reduced to political drama and demanded immediate accountability.
Warning the Congress leadership, the Mahila Morcha declared that the BJP women’s wing will continue its agitation until the full truth behind the JNU incident comes to light, justice is delivered to the victimized student, and strict legal measures are taken against the accused MP. Prominent party leaders, including BJP Mahila Morcha Vice President G. Manjula Reddy, State Executive Member Martha Usha Rani, District General Secretary Koppirala Shailasri, State Spokesperson Dr. Vannala Venkataramana, and several state and district office-bearers, participated in the protest.
