Rajanna Sircilla, Oct.1 : Senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders from the undivided Karimnagar district strongly condemned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s recent remarks against former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and former Minister K. T. Rama Rao. Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan in Rajanna Sircilla district, the opposition leaders alleged that the Chief Minister engaged in unparliamentary language and personal vilification rather than addressing crucial developmental issues facing farmers, handloom weavers, irrigation, and employment generation.
Former Minister and MLA Gangula Kamalakar stated that citizens expected the Chief Minister to announce fresh funding and infrastructure initiatives for the region. Instead, Revanth Reddy offered nothing new and merely resorted to unsubstantiated accusations. Kamalakar highlighted that major public assets in Karimnagar, including the newly inaugurated Integrated Collectorate complex, the Manair Riverfront, and the Cable Bridge, were conceptualized, funded, and executed under KCR’s tenure. Challenging the state government, he asked what significant new project Congress had brought to Karimnagar over the past three years other than inaugurating BRS-built infrastructure.
Former MP Boinpally Vinod Kumar criticized the ruling Congress for claiming credit for projects initiated during the BRS regime. Referring to the allegations regarding 8,000 acres of land, Vinod Kumar stated that BRS had already filed Right to Information (RTI) applications seeking clarification and demanded that the Chief Minister publicly produce concrete evidence rather than making vague claims. He further clarified that proposals and approvals for major infrastructure projects, including the Shamirpet flyover corridor, were set in motion during his tenure as a Parliament member.
Closing the session, BRS leaders demanded immediate state intervention to revive the handloom sector in Sircilla, calling for the restoration of the “Worker to Owner” scheme and the issuance of a white paper on the condition of weavers. The opposition leadership also demanded the release of second-phase Dalit Bandhu funds for Huzurabad, an allocation of ₹1,000 crore for regional development, the expedited completion of pending railway overbridge works in Karimnagar, and public disclosure of evidence behind the allegations made against BRS.
