Karimnagar, Sept.26 : Addressing the 30th conference of the Insurance Corporation Employees Union (ICEU) Karimnagar Division as the chief guest, All India Insurance Employees Association (AIEEA) National Secretary and Zonal General Secretary T.V.N.S. Ravindranath demanded that Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) must continue in the public sector and be further strengthened to secure the lives of millions across the country.
Criticizing the Central Government’s disinvestment policies, Ravindranath called disinvestment in LIC ‘anti-national,’ noting that the corporation paid a dividend of ₹12,200 crore in the last financial year against an initial government capital investment of just ₹5 crore. He condemned the lack of recruitment and rising workload pressures on employees, calling for widespread public movements to safeguard democratic rights and public sector units. He also urged management to immediately fulfill recruitment needs and recognize the union, which represents over 80 percent of LIC employees.
Zonal President Satish keynoted the session, highlighting global economic conflicts and arguing that recent insurance sector reforms aimed to weaken LIC under external pressures. Senior Divisional Manager Shiva Naga Prasad, Sales Manager Harikrishna, and representatives from class-one officers, development officers, pensioners, and political associations also extended their wishes. Following the conference, a new executive committee for 2026–27 was unanimously elected, naming Vaman Rao as President, Surya Kala as Vice President, and Rammohan Rao as General Secretary.
