Mahabubabad, Aug. 14 : Mahabubabad Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Shabarish, conducted an annual inspection of the Chinnagudur police station and ordered strict action against illegal drug trafficking and illicit liquor sales across rural areas. Upon his arrival, police personnel honoured the SP with a formal salute, after which he reviewed the station premises, pending petitions and official case records to ensure prompt justice for public complaints.
During the visit, SP Shabarish directed officers to maintain continuous vigil against cannabis (ganja) cultivation, smuggling, and usage. He instructed staff to organize awareness programs in villages to prevent youth from falling into addiction and urged police to refer identified drug users to de-addiction and counselling centers. The SP also ordered sustained raids on centers producing illicitly distilled liquor (gudumba) and illegal alcohol sales.
To strengthen public security, the SP reviewed the functioning of Village Police Officers (VPOs) and Blue Colts teams, emphasizing quick emergency response times and proactive intelligence gathering. He advised officers to monitor rowdy-sheeters and suspect movements while maintaining strong relations with local communities. Following the inspection, Shabarish planted a sapling on the police station grounds, encouraging staff to promote environmental conservation alongside their daily duties.
