Bhadradri Kothagudem, Sept.30 : Panic gripped residents in two separate locations in Bhadradri Kothagudem district after massive pythons strayed into residential areas during the late hours, prompting swift rescue operations by snake handlers and forest officials.
In Manuguru mandal’s PV Colony, a huge python was spotted slithering near the quarters close to the Super Bazar area. Residents initially heard unusual rustling sounds among the trees, and upon closer inspection, discovered the large reptile near human habitation. Frightened colony residents, including women and children, immediately alerted local snake catcher Muzaffar, who arrived at the scene and skillfully captured the python before safely releasing it into a nearby forest zone. Local residents expressed relief and commended his timely intervention, while raising concerns over the increasing frequency of snake sightings in the colony quarters.
In a similar incident, a nearly 12-foot-long python was spotted near the hillock area of Srinivas Nagar Colony in Palvancha town. Alerted by locals, forest authorities coordinated with the Kothagudem Snake Rescue Team, who rushed to the spot and safely rescued the giant reptile. As news of the rescue spread, large crowds gathered to view the python before officials transported it to deep forest cover for release.
