Warangal, Sept.18 : Demonstrations protesting against Government Order (G.O.) Ms. No. 97 reached their 32nd day at the Government Polytechnic College in Warangal on Friday, September 18, 2026. Faculty and staff members are continuing their ongoing agitation to safeguard the identity, academic standards, and future prospects of polytechnic education in Telangana.
To register their opposition without disrupting regular academic schedules, teaching staff organized a peaceful demonstration during their lunch break. Wearing black badges and holding placards, the protesters called upon the state government to protect the interests of diploma students as well as teaching and non-teaching personnel.
Organizers under the banner of the local and central Telangana Polytechnic Joint Action Committees (TPJAC) voiced deep concerns over the potential fallout of G.O. Ms. No. 97. They warned that the order could adversely impact the administration, academic framework, service conditions of staff, and employment opportunities for technical diploma graduates across the state.
The faculty members appealed to the government to hold comprehensive consultations with all polytechnic stakeholders before implementing any policy changes. They urged key decision-makers to review their demands immediately and address the key issues surrounding the government order.
