Warangal, Sept.30 : Warangal District Collector Dr. Satya Sharada instructed officials to take immediate steps toward establishing pulse processing mills and value-addition units managed by women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Speaking during her visit to Konkapaka and Parvathagiri market yards on Wednesday, the Collector emphasized that setting up red gram and pulse processing facilities will add value to locally grown crops while generating sustainable employment and income opportunities for women in rural areas.
Accompanied by district officials, Collector Satya Sharada inspected suitable locations for setting up mills, organic pulse units, millet processing centers, and eco-friendly plate-making units using banana and modugu leaves. She reviewed site availability, necessary infrastructure, and suitable plots for constructing Village Organization (VO) buildings, directing officials to formulate comprehensive action plans to maximize livelihood opportunities for SHG members.
Later, the Collector conducted surprise inspections at Anganwadi centers in Daulathnagar and Utti Thanda. Expressing strong displeasure over poor sanitation and improper record maintenance, she directed the District Welfare Officer to issue show-cause notices to non-performing Anganwadi teachers and negligence-prone supervisors. She mandated strict adherence to prescribed nutritional menus, compulsory uniforms for children, and continuous monitoring of hygiene. During her visit to Utti Thanda, she interacted with mentally challenged children and instructed welfare authorities to ensure their immediate enrollment in Bhavita Centers for specialized care.
DRDO Nagapadmaja, District Welfare Officer Nagamani, Parvathagiri Tehsildar Venkataswamy, MPDO, and other district officials accompanied the Collector during the field inspections.
