Mahabubabad, Oct.2 : South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava conducted a comprehensive inspection of Mahabubabad railway station on Friday, October 2. He evaluated ongoing station redevelopment projects, witnessed specialized mechanized track maintenance, and participated in cleanliness initiatives. He was accompanied throughout the inspection by Secunderabad Divisional Railway Manager Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan and senior officials from both headquarters and divisional levels.
The inspection commenced with a rear-window inspection aboard a special train traveling from Kacheguda to Warangal. During the journey, the General Manager reviewed critical operational parameters, including signal visibility, overhead traction equipment, track stability, and speed restriction orders across the section. Arriving at Mahabubabad station, Srivastava participated in the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign marking Swachh Divas, where he administered a cleanliness pledge to railway personnel and planted saplings on the station premises. He also reviewed progress on the ongoing station transformation under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, interacted with media representatives, and discussed local railway development demands with Mahabubabad MLA Dr. Murali Naik Bhukya.
Following the station inspection, the General Manager reviewed Track Relaying Train (TRT) operations between Mahabubabad and Tadala Pusapalli stations. The TRT is a heavy engineering machine that completely mechanizes track renewal by removing old rails and sleepers, leveling and compacting the ballast bed, and laying new sleepers and rails in a single continuous operation. This technology reduces manual labor, eliminates basic cranes, and significantly minimizes disruptions to routine train traffic.
