Hanumakonda, August 11 : Karnati Varun Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGNPDCL), emphasized that sports and cultural activities enhance mental agility, stress relief, and mutual bonding among power department employees. Inaugurating a two-day annual sports meet at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (JNS) in Hanumakonda on Tuesday, Varun Reddy stated that regardless of which circle team emerges victorious, it represents a shared success for the entire organization, calling on staff to compete with true sportsmanship and a sense of unity.
The CMD highlighted that encouraging continuous participation in sports directly boosts professional dedication and employee health. He explained that stronger interpersonal bonding among workers translates into improved operational efficiency and higher quality service for electricity consumers. Marking a major milestone, this event represents the first official sports meet organized by TGNPDCL since the formation of Telangana state, with over 150 players participating across multiple circles in cricket, badminton, volleyball, carroms, chess, and table tennis.
To boost the morale of the participants, Varun Reddy actively joined in by playing a game of carroms alongside the staff. He announced that TGNPDCL will make this sports and cultural meet a regular annual tradition moving forward, ensuring every employee gets an opportunity to showcase their talents.
The inaugural event saw active participation from TGNPDCL directors V. Mohan Rao, V. Tirupati Reddy, T. Madhusudan, and C. Prabhakar, alongside chief engineers, Sports Officer N. Jagannadh, and key sports committee members, including Madhava Rao, Venu Babu, Hemanth Kumar, Prem Kumar, and Yakub Pasha.
