Rajanna Sircilla, 25 : Special religious rituals, non-stop devotional singing (Akhanda Bhajana) and cultural programmes were held with traditional fervour at the historic Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada on Saturday on the auspicious occasion of Ashadha Tholi Ekadashi. A large gathering of devotees thronged the temple complex from early morning to offer prayers and seek divine blessings.
The day’s proceedings began with elaborate abhishekams and special archana rituals performed for Lord Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy. At the Sri Rukmini Vitaleshwara Swamy shrine within the temple grounds, priests conducted special abhishekams accompanied by the chanting of sacred Panchopanishad mantras. Similar holy rituals and prayers were also offered at the affiliated Sri Bhimeshwara Swamy shrine, followed by a solemn Mahapooja in the evening.
A major highlight of the festivities was a continuous 22-hour Akhanda Bhajana programme, running uninterrupted from 6:00 AM on Saturday until the Suprabhata Seva early Sunday morning. Devotional troupes and cultural groups from across various districts including Warangal, Sircilla, Karimnagar, Jagtial and Vemulawada participated in the marathon musical performance, keeping the atmosphere vibrant with sacred chants.
Prominent participating groups included the SRRD Santhosh Troupe, Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Bhajana Mandali, Shiva Keshava Bhajana Mandali, and Katakam Nagaraju Troupe, among others. The entire shrine complex resonated with spiritual enthusiasm as pilgrims enjoyed the devotional singing. Temple authorities made extensive arrangements to ensure smooth.
