Rajanna Sircilla, Oct.15 : ACB officials from the Karimnagar range caught Md. Abubakar, Tahsildar-cum-Joint Sub-Registrar of Vemulawada Rural in Rajanna Sircilla district, on October 15 while demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹8,000. The official demand was routed through a private worker, Sankasala Anil Kumar, who operates as a Bhu Bharathi computer operator in the Tahsildar office.
The bribe was solicited to perform an official favor by facilitating the registration of an agricultural land gift deed belonging to the complainant’s aunt in favor of the complainant’s father. Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officers caught Anil Kumar red-handed and recovered the entire tainted amount of ₹8,000 from his possession.
Following the raid, both the Tahsildar (AO-1) and the private operator (A-2) were detained for performing public duties improperly and dishonestly. Both accused are being produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases in Karimnagar for judicial remand while further investigation remains underway.
ACB officials reminded citizens to report any bribe demands by public servants using the toll-free helpline 1064, WhatsApp (9440446106), or official social media platforms, assuring that the identity of complainants will be kept strictly confidential.
