Hanumakonda, Oct.3 : Warangal Member of Parliament Dr. Kadiyam Kavya has once again been nominated as a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare for the 2026–27 term. According to an official communication issued by Bhupendra Bhaskar, Director of Health & Family Welfare at the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, her nomination officially took effect on September 26, 2026.
Leveraging her background as a medical practitioner, Dr. Kavya has consistently raised critical public health issues in Parliament. Notably, on March 27, 2026, she made a special mention in the Lok Sabha urging the Union government to enforce a nationwide ban on the hazardous herbicide Paraquat Dichloride, citing severe toxic risks to human life. Her sustained advocacy on the floor of the House contributed significantly toward the central ban on the dangerous chemical.
Expressing her gratitude for the renomination, Dr. Kavya stated that the parliamentary panel provides an invaluable platform to champion healthcare reforms at the national level. She emphasized her intent to advocate for early cancer screening initiatives in rural and economically backward regions, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technology in diagnostic processes, and the overall strengthening of rural health infrastructure.
