Medak, July 24 : A 108-emergency response team demonstrated exceptional dedication by successfully delivering a baby inside an ambulance near Pogulampally village in Tekmal mandal of Medak district.
When a pregnant woman experienced severe labour pains late in the evening on Thursday, her family immediately contacted the emergency services. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Bhanupriya and ambulance driver Kiran promptly rushed to the scene and loaded the patient to transport her to the hospital.
However, during the journey, the woman’s labour intensified significantly, making it impossible to reach the facility in time. Recognizing the urgency, the crew pulled the vehicle to the side of the road to manage the situation safely.
Guided via telephone by Call Center Physician Dr. Manish, EMT Bhanupriya used the medical equipment available on board to perform a safe normal delivery inside the ambulance.
Following the successful delivery, both the mother and the newborn were safely admitted to the Tekmal Primary Health Center (PHC). Doctors confirmed that both are in good health. Local villagers, health officials, and public representatives praised EMT Bhanupriya, Kiran, and Dr. Manish for their swift action and presence of mind in saving two lives.
