Medak, July 18 : Tollywood actor, film producer and Movie Artists Association (MAA) President Manchu Vishnu stated that Medak district stands as a remarkable testament to ancient history and heritage wealth. Visiting prominent historical and spiritual tourism spots across the district on Saturday, he emphasized the need for dedicated measures to elevate the region’s tourism profile.
As part of the tour, Vishnu visited the famous Yedupayala Vanadurga Bhavani Temple, where temple priests extended a traditional ‘Poornakumbham’ welcome and conducted special rituals. He later trekked up the historic Medak Fort to learn about its strategic past and concluded his tour by offering special prayers at the world-renowned Medak CSI Cathedral Church.
Medak Additional Collector Nagesh, alongside District Tourism Officer Ramesh and Municipal Chairperson Radhika Bhupathiraj, accompanied the actor during the visit.
Speaking on the occasion, Vishnu expressed that while people read extensively about history in textbooks, they rarely experience it firsthand. He remarked that India possesses a glorious historical heritage unmatched globally, which every citizen has a responsibility to protect.
Learning that the district administration has already drafted a tourism development master plan, Vishnu expressed surprise that such valuable locations, despite being so close to Hyderabad, remain under-visited. To support the region, the actor-producer promised to shoot and showcase Medak’s historic locations in his upcoming cinematic ventures.
Municipal Commissioner Naveen, Vice-Chairman Donthi Naresh Goud and DSP Prasanna Kumar also attended the event.
