Karimnagar, Aug.24 : The Karimnagar Rural Police have arrested a bike mechanic for allegedly blackmailing, threatening, and sexually harassing a married woman from Mammakkal village. The accused, Medidoddi Sai Kumar from Seetharampoor, was arrested at Ganeshnagar and remanded to judicial custody on Sunday following a detailed police investigation.
According to police sources, Sai Kumar developed an acquaintance with the victim’s family over the past six months. Misusing this familiarity, he began sending frequent text messages and making phone calls to her. The victim alleged in her complaint that the accused visited her home when her husband was absent, threatening to kill her if she refused to comply with his demands, and repeatedly blackmailed her.
The matter came to light after the victim’s husband grew suspicious and installed CCTV cameras at home, which recorded Sai Kumar visiting the residence. This led to serious domestic disputes, prompting the husband to issue a legal divorce notice. When the victim confronted Sai Kumar, he dismissed her and issued further threats, forcing her to approach the Karimnagar Rural Police.
Following a formal complaint, police registered a case, collected witness statements, and secured the CCTV footage as evidence. A team led by Karimnagar Rural Inspector A. Niranjan Reddy apprehended the accused at his workshop. Authorities sent the victim to the local Bharosa Center for counseling and medical examinations, confirming that strict legal proceedings will follow.
