Warangal, August, 12 : BJP state leader and Warangal Urban Co-operative Bank Chairman, Errabelli Pradeep Rao, extended his full solidarity to the ongoing indefinite strike by AYUSH house surgeons and undergraduate students. Visiting the Anantha Lakshmi Government Ayurvedic Teaching Hospital in Warangal on the ninth day of the protest, Pradeep Rao interacted with the striking medicos to review their grievances and core demands.
Addressing the protesting students, Pradeep Rao assured them that their demands are completely legitimate and pledged to take up their issues with the state government for an immediate resolution. He encouraged the medical students to remain steadfast in their democratic struggle, emphasizing that the BJP fully supports their demand for pay parity and timely stipends.
According to the Telangana AYUSH Joint Action Committee (JAC), AYUSH house surgeons and postgraduate doctors have suffered financial negligence due to stagnant stipends for nearly a decade. Raising the central slogan “Equal Work – Equal Stipend,” the JAC outlined three primary demands: bringing AYUSH stipends on par with Allopathy medicos, establishing a dedicated “Green Channel” for prompt monthly disbursements, and immediately releasing all long-pending arrears.
The JAC declared that their strike will continue until the government issues concrete orders resolving these issues. The solidarity demonstration was attended by JAC leaders Dr. Rohit Basre, Dr. Sangameshwar, Dr. Ganesh, and Dr. Seshu, alongside BJP Warangal vice-president Kandimalla Mahesh and local party leaders.
