Peddapalli, July 24 : A tragic incident occurred at Rupnarayanapeta village in Odela mandal of Peddapalli district when a 15-year-old student drowned in a local check dam while attempting to learn how to swim on Friday evening.
The deceased was identified as Chelika Aditya, a Class 10 student studying at the Zilla Parishad High School in Potkapalli. According to local sources, Aditya had gone to the check dam accompanied by his younger brother, Yashwanth. While swimming, Aditya accidentally slipped into deep water and started drowning. Yashwanth managed to safely reach the shore and immediately raised an alarm to alert nearby residents.
Villagers quickly rushed to the spot and conducted search efforts, eventually retrieving Aditya’s body from the water. Upon receiving the information, Potkapalli police reached the scene, examined the area, and registered a case to investigate the matter. The untimely death of the young student has plunged his family into deep mourning and spread grief across Rupnarayanapet village.
